A quick reference for the key terms you'll encounter on the PATHS platform. If you're unsure what something means, start here.
- Approved
- An article that has passed editorial review and is ready to be published. Only a Publisher can take it live from this point.
- Archive
- To remove a published article from public view. Archived articles are preserved in the system and can be reopened as drafts at any time.
- Article
- A piece of written content on the platform. Articles go through the editorial workflow before being published.
- Dashboard
- Your main workspace on PATHS. From here you can manage your articles and see their current status at a glance.
- Draft
- An article that is being worked on. Only visible to you and your editors. Every new article starts as a draft.
- Editor
- A team member who reviews submitted articles and decides whether to approve them or send them back for revision. See Reviewing & Publishing for details.
- Featured Image
- The thumbnail image displayed when your article appears in browse views or listings. Set this in your article's metadata.
- In Review
- An article that has been submitted and is waiting for an editor to review it. The author cannot edit the article while it is in this state.
- Organization
- The team space on PATHS where all content and members are managed. Your organization is set up by your platform administrator.
- Pillar
- A content category (e.g., Nutrition, Sleep, Medicine). Every article belongs to one pillar. See Metadata & Pillars to learn how to choose one.
- Published
- An article that is live and visible to all platform readers.
- Publisher
- A team member who can make approved articles live, archive published content, and reopen archived articles.
- Slug
- The URL-friendly version of your article title (e.g., "benefits-of-sleep"). This is auto-generated from your title — you rarely need to change it.
- Summary
- A short description (1–2 sentences) shown in article listings. Acts as a teaser for your content and helps readers decide whether to click through.
- Version
- A saved snapshot of your article. A new version is created each time you manually save. You can view and restore any previous version from your Version History.
